Two thoughts. (1) For a guy that has never done a build thread -- you, sir are knocking it out of the park. (2) Maybe its OCD, but go ahead and spring for the new "break area covers". This saw deserves it. If the paint is as durable as it is nice -- it is a job well done.
That cover appears NLA.... all my dealer shows is the code ending with 1105 which is the same for the MS660

@markds2 how long did you let the paint cure prior to heating. I painted some 034 super cases and when I stuck them in the toaster oven for heating to set the bearings, they discolored and I had to start over.

It was 4 to 5 days including having them sit outside in the sun most days, very important to let enamel to take its time drying. Treated right, it is very tough and has a nice gloss. It spent 4 hours in the oven at 80 degrees Celcius and seems to have come up nice and appears tough (although it will chip when knocked with something very hard)

After the expected wrestle to get the handle to slide in between the front AV mounts the next thing to do is slip the impusle over the nipple on the crankcase. I find that a pair of long nose pliers through here is the best place of any

And we get the ignition wires and their grommet in place:

And the intake all in place

In place with the throttle and fuel line connected

The original carb adjustment screw grommet was very hard but in good condition, a slight heat with the heat gun softens it enough for it to be pushed in place.

And the new gasket in place with a smear of 515
