I have 6 running 028 saws and 2 parts saws. I have cut a lot of wood with 028's. My go to saw now is a stihl 036. Since I got the pile of parts running I really like using it.

Ahh.........in the stihl world, yes. 028's, (and 041's), would be the likely champs there.

But the overall "most wood cut" title probably has to go to the XL-12's and 10-10's. On the market for the most years and top sellers throughout their model runs. And plenty still out there adding to the total.

Mine would have to be the ms 361 and dolmar 7900/7910. Really like the way both feel. I've had a couple surgeries on my hands , so antivibe plays a big part in which saws I take out. View attachment 15184

To most normal saw users the best firewood saw is the one that starts, has enough power for the job at hand and requires minimal maintenence.

It obviously depends on how big you need to go for firewood...for me, 18-20" is plenty and my Poulan 3000 screams with the 18"/.325 on it. It always starts, runs all day long and never misses a beat. Right behind it would be my modified Wood Shark/Wild Thing with a 16"....it runs like a raped ape and its just plain fun to use.

Another example of saws that don't get any respect, but still get the job done.
