Out of the ones that I've ran, probably my grandpa's PM700. He's had for almost 40 years and it's never given him a lick of trouble. It'll cut pretty much everything he needs to and it pulls a 28" .404 like it's nothing. It was also his only saw for 20 years until he bought an 046

What defines a firewood saw? I've used a 2100 to buck up firewood and an MS250 to fall trees, does that make my MS250 a falling saw and my 2100 a firewood saw? All that aside, for all-around saws I'd say MS250, 026/261, 10-10, Super XL, 61, 562, 041, 372, 461, 281/8. Bigger than 80cc falls out of the all-around saw category. Some are based off of historical popularity while others are a bit more modern.

IMO: It always depends upon what you need to cut, but mostly I would call 60 and 70 cc saws all around "firewood saws".

Smaller saws are mostly for limbing, larger ones for felling, stumping, large bucking and milling.

A good running 60 or 70 cc saw is light enough to limb with and strong enough to buck with.

As you'll notice most of my firewood saws are antiques ,because I'm never trying to be in a hurry when cutting firewood and I'm only traveling either from the jeep or backyard.
I have had alot of completed projects this year so alot of times I was breaking in rings on my firewood stack with some higher preforming saws but still managed to use all of the above mentioned saws.
For about 3yrs I only owned a 10-10A, Pm700 ,and a Homelite super2 .
