Snagged these today. Missing some parts so if anyone knows anything about Homelite breakers and spinners let me know.

They look exactly like the Herr set my neighbor gave me, except that yours say Homelite and mine say Herr. I'm gonna guess that Herr made them for Homie. Here's an interwebz pic I stole, @Philbert could probably tell you more about them. I still need to learn what A B and C are and where I can get a new little thingy that goes in the spinny side, mine looks kinda worn.

I believe the Homelite set was made by Herr. Herr made those for several different companies. Dan - your set looks like it's missing the anvil (goes opposite the take-up handle) and the handle for the breaker.

The breaker handle can be fabbed very easily from bar stock. The anvils and take-up handles are still available. I think Oregon has a breaker/spinner parts catalog that has parts for these.

Thanks J! I was hoping I could find the parts to make it complete again. The handle for the breaker may turn up. Local tree service closed up and he's going through stuff. I'll look for the parts through Oregon.

A number of those sets were sold under similar names. Including Oregon, and STIHL, I believe. So parts from other manufacturers may fit.

Important thing is measuring the diameter of the punches, and the spinner anvils.

There have been some similar threats either here, or on A.S. Which may have more specific information on the parts, and where to get them.

I got a small check in the mail from my aunts estate. She passed away last year…
I was thinking of buying some tires, but CAD kicked in and I figured that buying something that I will keep and that doesn’t wear out like tires would be a good idea. Dealer actually had stock, bought the full wrap kit cause it sure does look cool :)
When I was a kid she would always mail me a book for my birthday. I don’t know if you guys remember eyewitness books? Lots of pictures with neat things. She gave me quite a few of the where’s waldos books which were a hit when I would bring them to school. She also got me a “how things work” book. That was my favourite. Dumbed down complicated devices, machines etc for kids to understand.
I think she would be happy to know that I remember her every time I pick this thing up :)

Can we see the air box and what’s inside??? I have never seen a saw like that before! Looks like a more aggressive high top husky. I can only guess that they focused on the filtration with that model?
Big filter. There’s supposed to be a foam outer filter as well, but it’s disintegrated. I’ll get one, just to keep the saw intact.

This suspicious ms460 has a "b" stamped in the top of the cylinder. Is this OEM? 02 an 03 on each side. I can't see far enough down the side to read the side

Those markings look OEM to me. I've only seen "A" and "B" marked cylinders from the factory on the 046/MS-460s.

Poulan and Pioneer had some that went all the way out to "E".

Thanks guys. I don't work on many saws this "new" This one jumped up on market place an hour away at 8pm last night. Priced right. The muffler has been modified and wearing an 8 pin 3/8 rim with a 24 inch bar. I think someone had given it some attention.

This would have to be one of my best snags yet, and I would have completely missed it if it wasn't for Adam @Kiwioilboiler pointing it out to me. Same seller as his Husky 350 snag and listed on our local auction site as follows:

As we can see there's been lots of new parts thrown at it! I got it on Friday and pulled it over and thought hmmmmm..... that doesn't feel seized! I whipped the muffler off and this is what I find:

Cleaned the carb out and threw it quickly back together with another clutch I have and it runs! I think the clutch side seal has been miss installed and has a leak (uneven idle that changes when you tilt the saw) but I don't reckon it's a bad deal for approx equivalent of $340US delivered! Especially since it's the desirable early 088 with the cast muffler and unlimited carb!
