Matt, if you sell that Stihl 064, I think you would then need to see a psychiatrist and have your head examined. That's what my best logger friend with 25 years of experience told me last year after I bought mine.So I bought my 064 about 2 years back, most of the PTO side was missing on purchase, and basically had an undiagnosed running problem - i.e. it would start, but you couldn't actually run or idle it etc.
I replaced all missing parts, cleaned and checked out everything, and figured it was a blown base causing a massive air leak hence the problem. The original jug and slug are clean, as are seals and the bearings.
Thing is, now I've got my 044/460 hybrid finished and running, I doubt I'll get much opportunity to actually run the 064, which is a shame, and seeing as I'm an office worker who collects saws, mainly to process our own firewood and prune the odd tree, I'm sure that I'm gonna be able to do almost anything that the 064 could do with the hybrid. (Plus the space and money freed by the 064 sale may assist the starting of a new 044 project...... ).
So what do you fellas think? Should I sell? And what's a reasonable price to expect to sell it for? Here's a couple pics...

Other details, has good compression (160-165), starts, idles, runs, oils real well just as you'd want it to. So what is it worth?

Best 2 by the same guy ?I've ran 461s ported by 4 different guys and not for 5 cookie cuts at a GTG..i really wanna see how bad your 064 will beat my best 2 461s in a real log..not a 12x12 square.
I paid 350 for parts saw im building now.it was complete except for a few smalls and bad coil.im upgrading to later style ignituon and dual key flywheel.and total rebuild from bearings up with new wj10 carb.i feel i gotta a great deal.it was a non runner.I don't have a 064, but I have run them at GTGs. If I had one, I don't think I would sell it. They are about as rare as hens teeth around here.
If anyone is selling a good running 064 in good condition for $350 or less, please let me know, I don't think that is likely to happen. Good running 660s go for more.
Best news all day.youd regret it.You guys 've got me beat, I suppose I'll just have to keep it!!!!!!!!!!!
