I'll take the 461 i have that brad ported and any 064 you have and strap them with 28"-32" bars and work chains and go kill some trees and see the difference.

There isn't one.

Sorry..im doing that reality thing again...carry on.
My 064/66 may be a unicorn!!! Lol! Its as smooth and comfortable as any 661 Ive ran but then again I hadnt slung one around allday either. Ive ran both several hrs at a time in bigwood to know the 064/66 wouldnt be a deal breaker for the 661 IMO. Id take either. Now Id take a 661 over my 390 with a long bar if lugging it around allday long

This one i got is to a mahle non decomp.what brand is yours? I thought it would suit well cuz of thick base.i guess when i send for porting i can send both 066 and 064 and have numbers checked to see wich is better.

My 064 ran well on mine but nothin like my 066 topend. May have been my porting though
I'm going to have to reconsider my comment. I went back and watched some of my videos and the 064/066 does look to be stronger, although it does have more time on it and more broken in.

I'm not saying I don't like the 064s keith..i just think the real world use of these things gets stretched out of reality at times.

I thought it needed to be.

I know guys talk about how light 064s are and everything..and maybe those early ones with the garbage air filter are.

But the ones set up with the HD giddy up and a wrap handle don't feel any different than a 661 to me....im doin it again, sorry ...

I agree ive decided when i port mine im goumin to send both cylinders to my desired porter and let him check the numbers on both and let him honestly tell me wich is the better way to go.i do know that my 066 has a thicker base then my 064 wich will allow little more room for play.

I didn't wanna say it Mikey
Ill disagree with you and Mike. Somethings amiss on yalls 064/066 setup then because mine cuts and handles every bit as good as all the 661s Ive ran. Thats why Ive kept it instead of gettin a 661. With a 28" bar buried it pulls like a train and smooth as butter. Im not sure what the deal is but mine isnt rough or vibrateS at all so I cant relate with what yall r saying at all? Im not gettin it. If a 661 cut, balanced, or was any smoother than my 064 Id have a 661

We can go kill trees with my 461 and your 064 keith..bet you don't cut any more wood than I do :)

I know the 2-3 seconds mean the world to some..they don't mean Jack *s-word to me.

To each is own :borra2:

Some people dont notice the difference in vibes. They handle fine. It feels like I've run a jackhammer after 3 cuts. I can't stand it or I'll have hands aching for 2 days after. I've run maybe 1 that wasn't as bad as the others and I don't know why it was smoother. Vibes is why I'm going to sell another 046. If rather run a stock husky than ported stihl any more

The only saws that bother me with vibes are the cheap poulans at WOT. My hands tingle!! I dont notice any difference between my 064 and my 390 that rides on springs. Id actually prefer the 064 but thats just me Mike.
