I ran that 7900 side by side with my old 460 and yes the cut the same speed but you could lean on the 460 a bit more. The 7900 went downnthe road and I kept the 460. Trouble is that my early 046 spanked that 460, which was strong, hard.
D chamber i bet i got one goin on a 044 now.i honestly feel same way bout a 044 verses a 440 them old angle fin top ends had better numbers.

That stock 461 was pitiful in that 16" wood. It may get the job done but that doesnt change the fact thats its pitiful stock

Well keith there's guys who forgot more than you will ever know about using a chainsaw that would flat out disagree with you.

But it's your opinion.

Being this is merica and all, your entitled to your opinion....what you think is pitiful the next guy might not...

I've own'd 5 461's, 3 stockers, 2 ported, I never once thought any of them were pitiful. Butt that is just me :D

Ditto from a mechaincs view too Ryan. Using a saw daily doesnt justify being a saw God and belittling people who dont use them allday which isnt too cool either.

Either me, my mom told me I was not allowed to buy another chainsaw for the next 3 years anyways so....I'm stuck with the ones I have....
More important things in life brother than chainsaws like enjoying our children growing up and spending time with a good wife rather than worrying about whos nuts r bigger here on this site.

Yup, and you can hear the difference in idle and when wide open under a load with those slanted fin cylinders.

I was doin some charity work last year when mathew came to fl and a tree fell on a lady and killed her. Among 3 or 4 other blow downs.there were more people there then should be with homeowner saws i did 90 percent with my 10 mm 044 and 064.the news media was there wife said she could tell wich saws were mine while they were there filming before ever seeing me based on the sound.

No-one has belittled anyone that I've seen so far ?
Well the question always comes up do u operate a saw daily? Does that disqualify a person from being knowledgable about other things if he doesnt? I have alota respect for u brother as Ive seen your technique from videos u sent me. I probably cut more cookies behind my shop testing saws I repair than most people who claim to use one allday in reality. I have trouble keepin enough wood here to test in I go through it so quick. Anyway this is turnin into the sensitive butthurt section!!!:D

Keith with all due respect I think it comes up because it's a question that has validity, it's like asking a carpenter which hammer to buy, or a welder what rig he likes..when you use something alot you find out all the small things that add up to the big ones.

I think you are making too much of this...its not a personal thing at all.
