I think the 460 is 14.6 or 14.7, not 15.6.

I love my ported 460 for bucking, has a lot more torque than the 044, but the 044 is lighter and for me it makes a big difference if I'm doing some limbing and bucking.

Of course, we are all different. My next door neighbor is 6'6" and 350, and will limb with the 660, no problem! For me, I see the 044/440 and 046/460 as being very different.

Yeah, a 7910 is 14.7 lbs approximately, so if a 460 is a full pound heavier...

044 says 13 lbs so i see no need in 460 in my line up.so make it 10 mm 044 and 044 460 hybrid and 064 for me.i will put my 044 on freon scale tomm

That JMS is a 064 hybrid so maybe a tad more weight than a 64

That 046 had freakin great compression, tho. I think it was the older "D" cylinder? Dunno. I never had it apart. I do miss that saw, tho. She never missed a beat:

If that saw came from the factory with the DP cover, then it is a real 046-D Magnum. Only the first year 046s (which were D cylinder saws) came from the factory with dp covers. Back then, only the "Magnums" had the dp covers.

Then, the EPA banned the dp covers, and Stihl realized that "Magnum" sold saws, and they started putting it on everything (w/o any real performance increase).

If it is, I'll bet the SN is about 138******, or earlier. They were very strong running saws stock, as Brad will tell you, his Dad had one.

I just cut some huge red elm rounds today with my 064 AV. The saw performed flawlessly. I was pulling a 32" B/C and the saw seemed right at home. It never complained. I fear that this saw will outlive me.

That guy is a piece of garbage, mistakes are one thing..flat out stealing from people and ripping them off is another.

I've had this old bag since it was brand new, ground the transfer covers with a muffler mod and a 346 coil and she does alright.

He deserves his teeth knocked out and forced to pick them up. Plus his saws aren't that fast. Depends on who's they were compared to

Keith all I'm gonna say about that hocus pocus is I don't buy it.

And Jason strapon took some guys here for BIG bucks..id tread lightly even remotely taking up for that guy...
