I have usually had good luck with those parts from the AM, usually w/o any issues.

Recoil is the same as the 440 and clutch covers from 440 or 660 will work.

Hard to find dual dogs for a 460 that line up ... most other Stihl saws have a different alignment on the outer dog. I usually don't notice the mismatch in actual use.

Good to read ya

View attachment 435687Looking for rear filter cover. Recoil. Big clutch cover. Big dawgs. Anything else that you might see missing. Think I have enough stuff to put the throttle back together

I’m on it! Need to get back into it. I’ve for a 365 to put together, the 460 and a 2172. 😂. For somebody that “quit” chainsaws.
Don't be a quitter. Good seeing you here my friend.

Same here - A/M clutch covers have been just as good as OEM and I've used a few of the A/M starter housings and then replaced the spring and pawls with OEM. The A/M starter springs don't hold up over time. A/M dawgs are just fine.

I've had some AM starters work OK (mostly for 440s and 460s) and others that needed new guts. I always spray them with silicon and see how they work. I always keep new guts in stock as both OEM and AM sometimes need them replaced.

With tank holders I always try to reuse the OEM control levers. I often have had to modify AM ones if I use them (often to activate the choke properly).

With AM clutches I always replace the springs with OEM, and,

I always like to use OEM piston pins, clips and piston pin bearings.

This was just a hobby for me, so I basically just worked on 440s. 460s and 660s. That way, I could have most of the parts I needed available. Plus, those saws are what most of the local tree guys used to use.

Make sure you get one for a 461 or late version 460. Part # 1128-791-5501

Don't be fooled, the elbow is not plug & play on all 1128 family saws.

1128-791-5500 has a different angle and is slightly shorter, that was used on 044, 440, 046, and earlier 460's.

I’m at baileys and they only have the 5500

This looks right to me but says 361
