So...I may or may not have hastily filled my MS391 with straight gasoline
and ran it briefly before I realized it, thus I now have a 3yr old MS391 in need of rebuilding. It was still under warranty when this happened so I took it to the dealer and it was going to cost me nearly what I paid new for them to repair it. I ended up buying a rebuilt 064 so I have a great saw but would like to rebuild the 391 myself to have as a lighter weight smaller saw option. The rebuild kit I found with the cylinder is pretty pricy (>$300) and doesn't include the yoke, yet the kits for a 390 are only about $150 and do include the yoke...what's the deal?
Has anyone bored out a cylinder slightly after a mishap like mine and then just replaced the piston and yoke?
