Thank you very much for the information!
For the heck of it I tried to run it WOT with the choke on and it ran without cutting out like it's been doing .
Did another p/v test and its all good ..turned it over a few times and it holds p/v
I'm kinda stumped here 🤔
Anyone have any other ideas ?
I'm still not sure it's the coil because everything I have been reading is the failure happens when it gets hot or doesn't start at all .
This starts rite up and idles all day just dies at full throttle and shuts rite off .

Thanks very much
Ernie
Does it restart after shutting off?

Fuel delivery issue!

I had this behavior on my 6HP 4-stroke walk behind lawn mower this spring.
It would die on WOT, but miraculously run with full power without spitting black smoke on WOT+Choke for the first 3-4 uses of the season.
I ran it like that and basically wrote the mower off if I'd fry it because of it.

Within the same month there was a similarly spec-ed mower on sale in one of my local supermarkets - I bought one.

My old mower suddenly fixed itself and I have been running it all summer with no issues other than the blade being worn.

The new mower has not yet been out of its cardboard box, lest been fueled nor ran.

I thought a fuel delivery issue also but it's a new line and filter ...I'm fairly certain the line the same I.D as the original but I'll have to make sure...could be starving it for fuel if it's smaller .

Thanks
Ernie
