Respect is only one of a number of things that has been lacking in recent years. We need more: emotional resilience; emotional composure; dignity; integrity; and compassion.

When I look at how my parents and my grandparents conducted themselves, they didn't make snap decisions and they didn't make any judgements based on gossip, media bias,
or irreverent small talk. They researched issues for themselves and made sound decisions based on what they learned for themselves.

They knew tomorrow was going to be a new day and they knew that the ups and downs occurring from day-to-day and week-to-week weren't gonna last.

Social media is playing a hand in destroying those principles, and we're allowing it to happen.

There is a lot of truth in these statements!

Well now we all live in different areas with different environments, the Ash I cut produces a cloud of dust the second you start cutting.

My issue with this video... you made the cut with the 462 wearing a stihl lightweight bar but when you posted the cut time at 25 seconds- the saw was wearing a total bar.... what kinda trickery are you trying to pull?

A clear attempt to rig the results. Needs another test.

I’m kinda glad this thread was started and Ol’ Randy came forward with that information regarding Mitch. That kinda stuff needs to be out in the open. I’m thinking back to a previous saw that Jason Stratton was posting a lot of videos on- 661cm. I was considering have him port one so I didn’t have to wait 6 months for Mastermind. Randy didn’t tell me everything that he was privy to regarding Jason. Not long after that, Jasons “trial and conviction” took place and all the truth got laid out for everyone to see.
Fast forward to now, I have just recently come back onto the public part of the forum (I say that bc I have snatched some saws from the classifieds here and there), and I have been really interested in the 7310. I found a bunch of videos on the model from Mitch on YouTube and have been posting them here. Now that this info has come out, I feel a little guilty as an accomplice for advertising for him and drumming up business for him. I reckon I owe y’all an apology. I wasn’t aware of what I am now and I was in no way trying to mislead any of you or was I in cahoots with Mitch.

I’ve said it before many times but something my papaw told me “it takes a lifetime to build a good name and a second to destroy it.” I live by them words. What I appreciate most in people is honesty, integrity, and transparency. That’s how I try to be. It’s certainly disappointing to be faced with the knowledge that that makes me the anomaly in society.

That said, I’ve got to apologize to Randy, bc way back years ago I said I would never own another builders saw or have them port one for me. That’s a decision I made and having said it to Randy- I reckon I gave my word. 50 some odd saws later, I’ve kept my word... except for that 661 incident, and now on the 7310. I was considering having Mitch port one for me since he seemed to be doing the R&D on the model and Randy had told me he hadn’t seen one in person.

Now with all this coming out in this thread, I’m going to take this as an opportunity to self reflect and walk away with the lesson.

Original post deleted.

This thread exploded into a shiitshow and is not worth your time.

Did you watch the video you posted? Deaf Freddy would have questioned it.

There is a phone app that allows us to put numbers to these videos.

The original ms500i video hangs around 10,600 to 11,500rpm, wtf?

Dalls second video round around 8,800 to 9,700rpm, like a normal person, with the bulk of running 9,200 to 9,600rpm.

Yes, that is my old phone between headphones playing chainsaw music to the mic for the app to pick up.

Edit, after Andy asked, app is "engine rpm, acoustic tachometer"

The app isn't working for me, it's reading 19,000 rpm on a 462 in one of my videos. I have it set for two cycle single cylinder, any tips to make it read accurately?

Are you using auto ranging? it works ok, but try with it off.

Adjust rpm hint bar, upper blue bar to 10,500rpm

Adjust hint tolerance, lower blue bar to +-45% this means it will focus on rpms between 5,800 and 15,200, so would most likely auto force the 19,000 rpm you are getting to 8,000rpm, as you have told it that is an implausible figure.
