At work today I got a manual transmission beyond 1st gear for the first time.
Good for you. Manual transmission are becoming a dieing art.

I took my driving test in a 97, crew cab, long box, manual transmission pickup with a 7.3 powerstroke.

Kid, you're gonna need a bigger shed.
I'm well aware and need to act fast. My poor Allis Chalmers 610 and IH Cub cadet 70 sit outside under tarps. This summer I'll be making a lean to off the back of my shed or making more trellis style sheds for the garden tractors. And I'm pretty much out of room for more chainsaws as you can see, yet have about 6 on the way soon.

Maybe you can get a land/sea box, or a truck trailer body.

I agree with you, what with all these electric vehicles being auto

here in the uk if you learn to drive a stick shift (manual) & pass your test, then you can drive Auto's as well. But if you learn & pass your test in an Auto that’s all you can drive.

Btw both manual & Auto's have there places, almost all of the time I’d go for a 4x4 manual 😉

Same thing in Belgium. It's ridiculous.

Here in the U.S.A. The same applies to commercial drivers license. If a fellas takes his test in a tractor-trailer with an auto, that’s all he’s legally allowed to drive. But if he takes it with a manual, he can drive either.

Tarping can be okay as long as the bottom of the tarp does not reach the ground so air can circulate under it freely and moisture does not accumulate much like a terrarium for example.
