That’s a good scotch ^. The stuff I keep in stock on my little shelf there

Makers mark I like the small releases very well
Old grandad 114 one of the very best whiskeys I’ve tried for the price. If you see it try it only around 30$
Wathens
Woodford double Oaked my Sam’s club has it for about 40$. Deserty sweet
Elijah Craig barrel proof. I usually only drink that if I have good company over
Four roses I like the single barrel releases.

One or two bottles of rye. Currently like the old forester. I also like their bourbons. (I’m currently out of those).
There’s a lot of good stuff in those pics

Not gonna lie your shelf made me drool. Reminded me how much I like 1792 and some stuff I haven’t picked up for myself due to cost. I try to find good value bourbon. I also have a couple good friends that give me nice gifts. Guess I’m likable at times.

IMG_7952.jpegIMG_7958.jpegIMG_7957.jpegThe old forester was a store barrel pick 130 proof but drinks smooth as silk

The Penelope toasted is very good. Will replace that bottle

Then some stuff I saw tonight while window shopping. (I can’t afford to drink like that)

1000003563.jpgthis product meets or exceeds all standards and expectations. Plus I was able to make a dad joke with the cashier.

"Don't you need anything else?"

"Well, a glass and some ice would be nice."

Today's indulgence

Edit: i had asked the wife to get this of they had it. She asked the clerk at our local liquor store if they had any, and he said, "Yeah, we keep that in the back, because whiskey fanatics used come in and buy us out. So now we keep it in the back for loyal customers."

This isn't the first time they've gone out of their way for us. There are some disadvantages to living in Outer Redneckistan, but the community is awesome!

IMG_8601.jpegIMG_8340.jpegIMG_8261.jpegIMG_8166.jpegThe single barrel store pick old forester was completely amazing. I haven’t taken pictures of everything I’ve tried but that’s the best I’ve had in a good while. I do realize @jacktheripper you’re drinking higher on the shelf than I am
However I’d put that bottle of old forester in your lineup to see what your opinion was. Also I’ve included a bottle of scotch. I’m not a scotch guy but that’s the best I personally have tried. (Still not bourbon)

IMG_8632.jpegI did also enjoy this one. Pretty solid pour. I think outside of these bottles I’ve mentioned everything else I’ve tasted in the last year or so.

The members mark limited edition is just ok.
The painted stage is a local to me thing. Pretty decent but again just ok. Best bourbon for myself of 2025 was that bottle of old forester. Really amazing stuff honestly.

I usually don’t drink this high on the shelf, but decided to see which ones I actually liked best. We did a true blind tasting with names on the bottom of glasses and numbers 1-7 assigned for ranking. I didn’t expect to ever rank Blantons over EH Taylor. But I did suspect that I’d like the Weller 107 and Stagg Jr best. Well now I know what to spend money on!

My favorite consistent pours are Evan Williams white label, Wild Turkey 101, 1792, Knob, and Michter’s American and Bourbon. I’d like to mix those into a tasting sometime soon, too.

Good picks you’ve got there! I’d like to try some Old Fitzgerald Bonded. Isn’t it the same juice as Larceny? I’d also love to try some of that Larceny Barrel Proof

Well hell if I’m honest I don’t know if larceny and Fitzgerald bonded are the same. I’ll drink both. I do know that 😂. Consistent pours for me are gonna be any limited makers mark ( they missed a couple recently) old grandad 114, 1792 (your post caused me to pick more up earlier 2025) and woodford double oaked (love this as a desert style bourbon) But for real would’ve been honored to tasted this spread with you. Just way cool man

Here’s the good stuff shelf. Then I have a couple pantry shelves with the ok stuff lol.
I simply don’t even have that shelf. My very best is missing currently as I took it with me to a New Year’s Eve party. My best buddy hosted. I also dropped off a 24 pound brisket. We had a hell of a good time. My bottles won’t be touched ungik
I’m around again so safe keeping basically. But my shelf hasn’t changed much since last photo
