I'm rebuilding my mini mac 6, I need a new muffler gaskets but there is no part number or picture listed for one. Are you guys fabricating yout own gasket for these saws? Thx

Many of those saw did not use a gasket, the or steel aluminum body of the "muffler" just clamped directly to the cylinder.

That said, gaskets were used on other models (PM6, 300 Ser) that match the mufflers on the Mini Mac saws, 68747, 83948, and 84992 are all examples of gaskets that will work.

I have some 83948 available for $1.95 + shipping if you are interested.

P.S. The Mini Mac 6 is the most difficult saw to work on since the starter is not removeable, to extract the engine from the housing you have to align the starter "ratchet" with the fins on the flywheel as you move it past. If you pass the test on a MM6 you will find the other models much easier to work on...

yes, just like making gaskets sometimes you just need the material to make a diaphragm. It’s simply that simple. Happy new year to everybody.
And don’t be discouraged, trying to make gaskets just simply go buy a good punch that with different diameters and a good razor blade and you can make stellar gaskets and diaphragms

I draw them out in Adobe Fusion and then use my wife's Cricut to cut them out. Nice crisp edges, much better than what I get trying to do it by hand with punches and x-acto knives. Can do gaskets as small as Zama and Walbro carbs all the way up so far as to a McCulloch D-44 fuel tank gasket. I have one larger that I have not attempted yet for my Prentice-Reed 1200b. I have some Felpro 1/64 gasket material flattening out right now to make some copies of a Tillitson RK-34/36 carb diaphragm.

Here is the negative of a Husky 365/372 case gasket I cut with the Cricut:

Here a test run of a carb gasket for the Prentice-Reed 1200b, I use test copies of card stock until I get them dialed in, this one needs a little more tweaking until I am ready to cut it out of gasket material.

I started out having my wife do them on her cricut then moved on to a Brother scan n' cut. The rest is history 👍.
