I've never dealt with the guy myself .However I've been thinking about ordering a set of decals for a Partner P-100 super .It's been a long since I've dolled one up which doesn't make them run any better just more pleasing to the eye . Too dang cold out now to do any painting .

I ordered the diaphragms from sugar creek...... if its like the last time I ordered it will be a few weeks so I will throw a Tilly in there for now.

I have never delt with him personally but have heard many people have had orders not ship for months. His address is under 5 miles from my shop. Don't know if one can just drop in and say hi or not.

I heard about the same but I'm certain it just depends on who is saying it .I've said many a time restoration of anything is not for the impatient .If it were easy anybody could do it .:)

Sugar Creek is Joe Salva.

He's a busy guy and does the decals and carb kits in his spare time -- as much as an enthusiast himself as he does it as a business. He did the airbox/carb cover sticker for my SP81 nearly from scratch and it took a couple months for him to finally wrap it up. I think he charged me 18 bux when it was all said and done. Needless to say, he didn't make squat on it, but he now has the design finished for any additional orders that may come along thanks to my cooperation, measurements, pics, and template. Fair enuff, I guess. He was very easy to work with.

In most cases he does the decals on a per order basis as opposed to having them on the shelf ready to ship. (I can't speak for the carb kits.) The designs are already there and ready to go for anything he advertises, just not necessarily the finished product unless actually ordered. And whatever you do, go direct to Sugar Creek and not through any third party that may be middling his orders. I made the mistake of going through Chainsawr for a bar stencil that was "Ready to Ship!". When contacted a couple weeks later wondering where my order was they just punted and told me to contact Suger Creek directly anyway.

On the decal thing I was working with my bud who was a painter and they had the software to make decals .Turns out he became ill because of years of breathing paint fumes and took a medical retirement .Then 6 months later I retired ,so much for that plan .

Now then ,diaphragms .I think it was on the forum Magnus runs was a guy from Pa and I'm not even certain if he is still alive .Lewis Brander /Brandon .He would take old stiff diaphragms and soak them in brake fluid and claimed it would fix them right up .I've never tried it myself .

I tried that brake fluid thing. Maybe I was too impatient? One weak soaked and it was still hard as a rock!

The brake fluid thing doesn't always work. It depends on the material and it depends on what changed the material's flexibility.

I use those heavy blue chemically-resistant gloves for parts washing - they get hard after a while with exposure to solvent and gas.

Soaking them with brake fluid for about eight days will soften them up, but then they're only good for two or three more uses.

I tried using the brake fluid technique on an old model 73 diaphragm with limited success. After two weeks it softened up some, but still stiff in some spots. I had an old collector tell me one time that CaiKleen is the way to go. I haven't tried it yet but was going to order some and give it a go. The old fella swore by that stuff.

The only way I could get the fuel to work on the flatty on the 250 was raise the lever up farther because it didn't have much flex left in it . Danged diaphragm looks like it should be on a motorcycle or snowmobile . I don't remember now if it was a choke or a primer ,I just disliked it .The saw is lost some place in my shed .

Guys be careful when dealing with Sugar Creek Supply " Joe Salva" He is
nothing less than a damn thief, I sent him a diaphragm for a mac 99 two
man saw and never got it back. I had previously bought many decal and
carb kits from him on numerous occasions. He wouldn't answer his phone,
Return messages or emails. Totally ignored me. I have no use for a piece of
scum like Joe Salva.

Mods can you please leave this up for a few days before removing. People
need to know about Joe Salva prior to doing biz with him.

I had no problem dealing with him. Matter of fact, he refused my offer to send him my existing SP81 decal to assist in finishing the design details stating a concern for it getting misplaced. Never did business with him previous to that and always heard he did great work, which he does. Slow in getting things done, yes. "Nothing less than a damn thief?" Not my experience.

Not to get in the middle of you two but, I have heard more horror stories of sugar creek supplies than I have fingers and toes. That is enough to keep me from doing business with him.

Now, on to other things more pressing.

I believe I accused Mark of being a McCulloch poser? Pretty serious offence I think? :D
