In addition to what Steve says, check the O-ring between the pump and the crankcase. I don't remember exactly but I think it is an -021 or -022.

The oil pumps on the mini's will hydro lock them up tighter than a bulls butt in fly time .Believe it or not they actually had rebuild kits for them which I have a few some place .However I've never had any luck on any Mac oil pumps weather they were piston or diaphragm type as far as rebuilding .On a 110 I just blocked the piston from moving and used the thumb oiler .

Just as a teaser, the full wrap handle installed on a Pro 10-10 Automatic with the long clutch cover.

After the photos I decided to tear the 10-10 apart for a good cleaning, any repair or replacements needed, then I will likely put it up for sale. 140 PSI compression, electronic ignition.

Hi all. I just recently got a mini mac 25 for free but the case is busted. Air filter missing etc. I took the engine out and it looks hardly used and has good spark. Are these worth fixing? And will a case from mini mac 30 or 35 or 110 work? Thanks in advance

No need to shop, just look around at local saw shops or dumpsters. Occasionally found in the bottom of small ponds as well, but unless you catch them really fresh they should probably stay there.

Warning, they do multiply like rabbits.

You should see if @Steve has any left. He and I made a good deal on one a while back.

I bought a Mac 130 for 5 dollars from a saw shop today. The starter paws are different and I can't use the flywheel because the key is different ..... *s-word

The starter pawls were changed when they changed the starter pulley from the older plastic/metal combo to the all plastic pulley. I think the newer versions of the flywheel used the thin key. It should be possible to switch the pawls from one flywheel to the other as McCulloch provided an update kit to convert to the all plastic starter pulley with the plastic pawls or you could file the key down to fit the newer flywheel.

The SP 81 had a different muffler system than say a later 850 with that wire gizmo sticking out the top .Generally speaking in total stock trim they will out cut an 850 all things being stock .Plus the fact the SP 81 had a points ignition that you could advance the timing by the points setting a little bit .It does help but if you get too much it will try to pull you through through the recoil .That I can attest to .That model is the one I made a mistake of drop starting after I flooded it and it climbed the starter rope .I lost my balance and nearly fell on the saw which could have cut my arm off .Never ever did that again

I finished putting this one back together today, should be a good runner once the Red Kote fully cures. New rings, seals, carburetor rebuild, pretty much the works.

I will probably put it in the museum with a "For Sale" sign and see what happens.
