Lost my footing on a toe board many yrs ago, on a 12/12...I had only seconds to sink the claw of my Estwing 22oz hammer in a sheet of 1/2" OSB as I was sliding...if it were not already in my hand when we were nailing off the decking, I'd a hit the ground. You couldn't have pushed a straight pin up my rear end the rest of the day.
LMAO

Gardening between showers but got it finished ok how's the bay window coming along

Big window to install myself, but my dad taught me to work smart and find ways to do things myself. I got it in. Found some rot...

Nice old house Dan. I've got some rot in my overhangs. I left way too many trees close to the house. The trees are gone, and someday I'll get motivated enough to repair the damage. Sorta waiting on the shingles to need to be replaced, just make a proper job of it then.

I was doing a roof for a friend a couple years ago. 10/12. Old farm house, had to sheath over the old roof boards. I was at the ridge and my buddy started sliding. He tried 3 times with his estwing and couldn't get through. He managed to spin face first went off the edge and stuck his fall on a small overhang roof 8' down. It was like slow motion, I still don't know how he did all that in 15' of slide. Must be adrenaline. Fortunately he was ok.

I love the house but there is so much to do... Trying to renovate and every step prompts 3 more. Seems like everything is started now and nothing is finished...[emoji19]

I know some guys that just hide the issues, throw some paint and new carpets in and turn a tidy profit. That's dishonest to me. A lot of young couples trying to buy a house get in it thinking it's good and then have to start fixing things. I wouldn't want it done to me.
