It’s like it used to be on the 2630’s, no annual charge to use it but it’ll expire when the display does lol.

I was just joshing you a bit...............It does not matter what company manufactures or sells any electronics they should never use "lifetime" as a selling point. There is no way to determine what a "lifetime" is.

This is a completely different situation but think about Craftsman tools. They used to sell some quality hand tools. The touted their lifetime warranty. I cannot speak for others but we had 2 large retail Sears stores up-river about 35 miles. If you had a busted tool you took your wife out to eat on a Saturday night and swung by Sears. They gave you a new replacement on the spot. There were times though they had a box of rebuilt ratchets and swapped you. Now flash forward to 2025......when was the last time anyone walked into a Sears store let alone one with tools? When they crawled in bed with K-Mart it was over.

They still give you a new wrench / ratchet but they’re not worth bringing home anymore

The NAPA has lifetime warranty on their Carlisle tools.

I haven’t had any issues with Snap-on warranty on their tools.

I don’t know if Deere has warranty on their tools of not. I have lost a few but never broken one, yet …

While on the subject of tools, I looked at the price tag on a loaded 36” toolbox at Deere the other day. $2700 now.

I think I paid $1400 -$1500 for mine 2-3 years ago.

My brother got his for about $1000, 6-7 years ago.

When I was a kiddo we did not have a "booster seat" at the kitchen table. We sat on a stack of Sears/JC Penny/ Wards catalogs. As you got older a catalog was removed.

After trapping season was over you perused through the Sears Mid-Winter sale catalog at all the tool deals.

Two of my sons work for Deere and do not use their tools.
I am not being Anti-Deere.............. just honest.
There Deere mobile mechanic that used to come out here did not even use them.

Snap-On ........damn rich guy eh :D
I remember in high school when my brother spent an entire paycheck with "Snappy Joe" on (5) flare nut wrenches.
Later he came home....broke

Definitely not rich, just some tools have better ergonomics & dimensions than others.

I have had no issues with any of the Deere tools, they have served me well. I will say that the 36” loaded box has been one of the best purchases I have made in years.

@jakethesnake

Don’t you use ag leader ?

Do you have any instrument drift ?

I had about 3’ of drift in about an hour, the other day,

It was trying to shut off rows 11 & 12, showing overlap on the monitor but I was dead on where I needed to be.

Ag Leader had no answers.

That’s because they’re not suppose to tell their customers Greenstar is better …..

I run Ag Leader stuff on the tile plow and in the combine and every bit of our Greenstar stuff has been way less hassle. Almost like building a kit car to save a few dollars and having it cost more in the long run due to issues and lack of dealer support.

Our new globes can keep their line without a sat signal for quite a while with no drift. No idea how by we’ll find out in a few days if things go haywire with the satellites like they did last year. At least we still have the markers on the planter !!

@Bill G No no sears around but ace hardware warrants craftsman tools. However. They’re junk

Snap on is too expensive for me too. I run whatever. My tools are all mixed. I do have a large metric set of Deere wrenches. Just combination open end box end up to 32 mm. They’re ok. They’re not special. Made in tiawam

That’s what I told Chase, glad I was using the markers & not auto steer.

Chase & his father in law think that the monitor picture is gospel.

They can’t understand why I use the markers & don’t just plant by looking at the picture.

Hopefully this satellite snafu helped them to understand.

We have plenty of dealer support & Ag Leader is based out of Ames. I usually just call them direct when I can.

I have never been around green star. My brother uses it & seems to like it.

Seems like all the Kinze stuff has Ag Leader.

I heard that CIH bought Ag leader, several people said if that was the case that ag leader would go to chit.

Lots of folks in this area have troubles with CIH implements & tractors communicating with other breeds of equipment.

Finished up planting corn tonight for Chases neighbor, If I remember correctly the summary for corn between Chase & his neighbor was 914 acres.

Chase has to do the test plots yet, I told him I wasn’t planting them this year. He is the seed dealer he can take care of them.

Green star isn’t any better or worse than ag leader. Newer units may be better than older. I have both…
