i worked at Sears when i was 16. rebuilt a lot of ratchets and ordered a lot of replacement tools for people under warranty.I was just joshing you a bit...............It does not matter what company manufactures or sells any electronics they should never use "lifetime" as a selling point. There is no way to determine what a "lifetime" is.
This is a completely different situation but think about Craftsman tools. They used to sell some quality hand tools. The touted their lifetime warranty. I cannot speak for other but we had 2 large retail Sears stores up-river about 35 miles. If you had a busted tool you took your wife out to eat on a Saturday night and swung by Sears. They gave you a new replacement on the spot. There were times though they had a box of rebuilt ratchets and swapped you. Now flash forward to 2025......when was the last time anyone walked into a Sears store let alone one with tools? When they crawled in bed with K-Mart it was over.
They still give you a new wrench / ratchet but they’re not worth bringing home anymoreI was just joshing you a bit...............It does not matter what company manufactures or sells any electronics they should never use "lifetime" as a selling point. When I was a kiddo we did not have a "booster seat" at the kitchen table. We sat on a stack of Sears/JC Penny/ Wards catalogs. As you got older a catalog was removed.i worked at Sears when i was 16. rebuilt a lot of ratchets and ordered a lot of replacement tools for people under warranty.
that sears shut down and i was able take a bunch of ratchet rebuild kits with me along with the tools to rebuild them
Two of my sons work for Deere and do not use their tools. While on the subject of tools, I looked at the price tag on a loaded 36” toolbox at Deere the other day. $2700 now.
I think I paid $1400 -$1500 for mine 2-3 years ago.
My brother got his for about $1000, 6-7 years ago.
Snap-On ........damn rich guy ehThe NAPA has lifetime warranty on their Carlisle tools.
I haven’t had any issues with Snap-on warranty on their tools.
I don’t know if Deere has warranty on their tools of not. I have lost a few but never broken one, yet …
That’s because they’re not suppose to tell their customers Greenstar is better …..Ag Leader had no answers.
It’s satellite issues.@jakethesnake
Don’t you use ag leader ?
Do you have any instrument drift ?
I had about 3’ of drift in about an hour, the other day,
It was trying to shut off rows 11 & 12, showing overlap on the monitor but I was dead on where I needed to be.
Ag Leader had no answers.
That’s what I told Chase, glad I was using the markers & not auto steer. It’s satellite issues.
We have plenty of dealer support & Ag Leader is based out of Ames. I usually just call them direct when I can. That’s because they’re not suppose to tell their customers Greenstar is better …..
I run Ag Leader stuff on the tile plow and in the combine and every bit of our Greenstar stuff has been way less hassle. Almost like building a kit car to save a few dollars and having it cost more in the long run due to issues and lack of dealer support.
Our new globes can keep their line without a sat signal for quite a while with no drift. No idea how by we’ll find out in a few days if things go haywire with the satellites like they did last year. At least we still have the markers on the planter !!
