Got an old side delivery rake to make windrows to burn?

I have a old 6 wheel New Idea inline wheel rake that I have used to rake small twigs from brush clearing around fields but it will not hold up to the abuse it will take to move this heavy material. I pulled this pic from a equipment dealer site where they are asking $2200........what a joke. I gave $100 for mine.

I have a Deere 640 bar rake but the material will sheer every finger instantly.

The Gehl 10 wheel V rake is in good shape and way to big to dodge trees.

My son was telling me about a guy that built a heavy wheel rake that would literally windrow soil but damn I am a cheap ass. I just want to clean the ground up so one of our timber fallers can keep his daughters hay burners here. He has already spent a poo ton and I am spending a poo ton so I need to stop the bleeding..........
Who am I kidding In the end I will spend what it takes as I am an animal lover and want to get her horses on better ground

I was thinking more along the lines of a bar rake. Cheap NH256 or the likes that wouldn't be much good for hay. Weld some pieces of rebar to it to push the chips without worrying about breaking teeth off.

I’d let the hoses walk on it. They’ll mash it in the ground. It’ll rot in 6 months
The problem is the ground is really poor in quality so I wanted to remove the shred to stimulate seeding but I doubt I will accomplish it If I was a gambler I would do with the guys used to do and seed it today. The current temp is 12F and we have a few inches of snow on the ground. The forecast is to go 17, 20, 29, 40, 49, 48, 45, 41, 43. If you can believe the forecast seeding on top of the snow should work but damn that is gamble

Is this the dog on the bottle??

Tried @eric4 s wine. The gsm blend. Very good stuff. If any of you fellas or your ladies like good red wine I’d give it a go. Pleasure to order from and quick shipping. Thanks buddy! Good stuff
Thanks Jake!

The dog on the bottle was Gus.

He passed in 2011, but earned immortalization, on the label :)

Good idea.
We tried that with a 256, it broke teeth. We just disked a line around the fields and burned the whole thing. Keep in mind, we burn 100-150 acres a year and are trained. A lot of state forestry agencies will do it for a very reasonable fee and have the dozers and brush trucks on standby.

The conservation department offers burning training clinics at different times throughout the year for free. Just be one of the first ones to sign up to get into it since it is limited in size.
