Throttle control moved to side and easier to control over the foot feed. Nice that I can do most of everything with my hands without having to clutch every time. Power reverser only requires clutch when shifting range, otherwise you don't need to use it. I use it for close work like backing into a bale for putting onto the unroller.
Handy looking rig

Think I need to buy the buddy seat.

That makes me laugh.
It also brings up a oddball question. Does anyone still have a Massey 510 or possibly 410 combine?
I would love a picture inside the cab of one behind the seat. They had a "shelf" there and I once put my son down for a nap there when he fell asleep while I was cutting beans.

Those grapes or what we looking at here?
Yep! My parents and myself operate a small vineyard and wine brand up in the mountains. Our property is at 3k ft., rocky volcanic soil (great drainage).

Grape varietals are:
Albariño
Grenache Blanc
Grenache Noir
Syrah
Mourvedre
Zinfandel
Cabernet Sauvignon

Local timbers are ponderosa pine, Doug fur, black and canyon live oaks.

This time of year, were pruning last year's growth. Two buds per spur. Each bud grows vertically as a cane, thru the trellis, and produces two clusters per cane

We have muscadine and Concorde here. Time to prune now. Too cold, maybe this weekend. I only have 5 vines of each 11' on center.

Just for our use.

I planted muscadine 30 years ago. Too shady of a place. Sorta forgot about them. Loaded this past year.

The varietals we chose are mostly from southern France, where they get more sun than other European regions.

Too much sun can be a problem too, of course. Pushing ripening too quicky, which makes for bland flavors. Hang time is key, so that's where the elevation helps balance out our UV. The cool temps at night keep our fruit on the vine longer.

About 25 years ago I bought some cheap potted grape vines from the local farm store. I planted them and they just sat there for at least ten years then for whatever reason they took off and grew. After awhile they got neglected and some brush grew up in them. About three years ago the township road commissioner sprayed them with brush killer.

Vineyard was just down the road about three miles from my parents. They tore down the old house he lived in just a couple years ago. Interesting story.

The steaks get a little steamy when it’s -22f outside. Took this one yesterday. They really don’t seem to care. Me on the other hand gets chores done and goes back in the shop as quick as I can with those temps.
