I need to pull my baler in the shop this winter. She needs some love. I think I can ease through my last cutting with her. There’s some stuff that would certainly be easier to fix in a warm shop than when it’s 7 billion degrees out and I’m trying to bale

Is the center of that bearing hex like the shaft there concrete grazer. If so they usually slip right on off. I love the hex shafts

All of them are hex on a Deere I'm told. I've changed 5 bearings on mine now. 3 on the starter roller that needed it & the ones in the stagger roller. Had one one the mounting bolts break on it & decided to change them since it was out.

Not to shabby for 30k+ bales I think.

Must be JD baler bearing week, had to put the bearings on,I call the belt traction roller Monday. Must have been a bad made bearing my 568 only had 3870 bales when the bearing failed. Boys at JD told me they never had heard of one failing with less than 6000 bales.

Where do you run your tension?
Where do you keep the baler & how often do you wash it?

I'm not fond of Deere's 5' balers. They use the same bearings & weight of rollers as the 4'. The bearings fail quicker & the rolls break.

Same here agree there not strong enough on the 5ft balers contractors aren’t
Happy with them there are better 5ft balers out there that are cheaper new

Concretegrazer, I have the pressure set so the gauge is a ways from the red,the bales are set so they are about two inches short. I started doing that with my old Vermeer to save the bearings. The guys down here suggested blowing the baler out with a leaf blower, as far as washing it off just the end of season with a garden hose. Guys any helpful hints appreciated! This is my first Deere baler.
