Is that inoculant? When I was planting my garden, I noticed some sweet corn was $19 a pound. Needless to say, I passed and got the $5 a pound stuff.
Just graphite the color on the seed is all kinds of goodies.
The black is the graphite keeps things flowing good. And makes me look like a raccoon when the wind is blowing just right.

So far we got cukes, zukes, tomatoes, peppers and several types of melons in. Looking at a 34 low on Thursday night so we’ll see how that goes.

The dust isn’t getting better but at least we don’t have much currently tilled land at the moment to erode away. I’m happy with where we’re at overall.

Our soil is loamy overall but we have some areas where it’s more clay or sand. Drainage is good but raised beds make it better. Bulbs are planted 2-3inches deep root down. Not deep enough could lead to freeze kill. More sunlight is definitely preferable, the bulbs need the warm ground in the spring to start doing their thing. You can also try fabric or black plastic ground cover to help with soil temps.
Thanks for the tips. So far my crop is looking better than any previous attempt. Straw covering was a first for me last fall.20230516_200821[1].jpg20230516_200831[1].jpg

Now I'm just going to need to find the hardneck variety's, generally strong flavor that I like the most. Home grown has won me over.

They’re looking great 👍 definitely some nice stems and good color. That straw mulch is really keeping the weeds back too.
Magnum broke down on me with a transmission overheat. Trying to get up and running to get corn finished up. Hopefully tomorrow they can get me going again.
How’s your planting season going? We’re just cracking into it up here.

Well it had been going well. Ground is a little tacky but going well enough. Figure this thing out and I’ll run long hours and get caught up maybe. Couple hundred acres left or so. Bout 100 in one block so wouldn’t take long to finish. Started the 6th or 7th of may. Usually try to start the first. Had a big rain that set everyone back. 5 inches or more in places.
