70536649544__AAF645CE-604D-413A-99DC-216ED9C5EE87.jpegBlew my red ball system yesterday…. I got creative to get running. Took old check valves and bypassed the system. Pretty fugged up but I’m running. Liquid fertilizer runs through the “red ball system”. Let’s me see from cab that all rows are working. Anyway. Lousy setup I’ve made here but I can plant

Norway Spruces are budding up nicely, we planted 450 Concolors and Canaan Firs this year to fill in our gaps. We do U-cut only and sell pre cuts at our main location.

We’re dry here too, bout the same situation as Hoskvarna. Reservoirs are lowish but our river is good for the moment. No rain for a week plus so we had to irrigate our pre-emergence herbicide between the plastic rows. Bonus is that we’re watering our early sweet corn before it gets curly.

How do you spray your herbicide strips? Tractor sprayer or backpack?

R.I.P. little one!
She seemed to be on the mend, I fed her yesterday - just for me to come home from work and get told she passed on. 😭

She fought for three weeks, my parents gave up on her last week.
I am not home 9-10 hours a day, 6 days a week - I tried caring for her as much I could.
May she be in a better place now!

This is how I will remember her, a little nuclear reactor powered Energizer Bunny (Duck).

Such lovable birds, get Yourself Indian Runner ducks!
Fairly humble in their needs, just keep in mind they need/want water - cleanish water, rain water will do.
They are not noisy as some may assume.

I had a couple of ducks that would go on walks with me. Neighbor's dogs killed them.

One of my neighbors "out of control and uneducated" dog once came into my yard, jumped a 40isch" tall mid yard fence and went after my ducks.
I chased the dog away and went to my neighbor , told him I'd cut his dogs head off and eat its heart in front of him if that mutt ever causes harm to my ducks!!!
Neighbor seemed a little perplexed, but "upgraded" his own yard fence to a height of 80" or so (216cm) - his mutt still gets over it and roams uncontrollably.

I haven't shed a tear for an "animal" a long time, ever since my previous pup died.
I have a huge potato stuck in my throat and tears in my eyes for this little feathered beauty! 😢

I need to sort all the duck videos I made and upload them to YT, amazing energetic little birds!

Sorry to hear the bad news.
it always hurts when you lose an animal you’re close to.

My BIL holding his drake, my ducks hatched from eggs my sister sent us.

Lovely birds!!! 🥰

My remaining one female duck is either in sorrow or sick too, I sure hope it is the former!!!!!!!!!
Little "White" was the alpha , so I hope this is a transitional period to establish a new alpha - which is a female.
Establishment of "White" as the alpha after "Pearl" died took nearly three weeks - this will be a long time of silence on the back yard! :(
