We are seeing much the same stuff right now. If it is cold will that give you a shot at harvest? Kind of like drying clothes by freezing? Then the question will be will you be able to drive around without getting stuck?1”-3” of this stuff is going to put a halt to harvest & anhydrous application. If it was the dry powdery stuff it wouldn’t be so bad but these are big wet flakes. The bottom falls out on temps for a couple days after this moves thru.

I think if it melts it will freeze up nice & we can run until it starts getting slimy, then the machines will just slide around. The snow needs to be off of the ears & leaves or it makes the guts of the machine sticky & goobers up the sieves & a lot of corn gets carried out the back & if the shucks are wet it often times “butt shells in the gathering chains & you lose a lot of corn thru your gathering chains onto the ground. We are seeing much the same stuff right now. I’ve had snow destroy beans. Lost a good bit of money 10-15 years ago when it melted it pulled the whole plant down so flat I couldn’t pick them up
We finished up with harvesting the other day.
We farm along a few creeks and the pictures don’t really show has pretty it is.

I’ve never witnessed it but I have actually heard of it. Pretty rare.Anyone ever witness a rooster tend to a egg/ incubate it? Lol
I don’t think he’s confused tho, he was doing his call to the hens when he has found food for them, so I think he was just genuinely concerned about the egg getting cold and the hen needing to get in there and tend it lolI’ve never witnessed it but I have actually heard of it. Pretty rare.
