I think you're gonna like that deal...you'll figure out the nuances of the setup after the first time through

Well I decided to give it a go and I’m really happy with the Budbox setup.

I put 38 cows through the chute by myself after work this afternoon. I was just worming and replacing ear tags. My dad stopped and we run another 20 and banded probably 12 before it got to dark.

These cows are pretty far from pets and they’ve been out on pasture all year with very little people contact. It took several days of graining them before I could shut the barn yard gate.

I really feel like it was less stress on the cows and myself, I’ve never been able to work cows alone before and it went pretty smooth.

I’m going to do a better job of running them in and out of the barn next summer.

Our forecast isn’t looking good for cutting.

Ours either
Had 4.5in last 5 days

Sent from Hoskey hilltop

Same no real rain yet but supposed to start tonight into tomorrow. Rained a couple inches a couple days ago. I didn’t honestly think they’d cut today.

Sorry it’s not a better video of the setup. Those were the last calf’s to work for now.
Of course they went straight down the alleyway in the video. Some of the more excited cows & calves would circle in the box once or twice.

My wife was helping me (from the outside)with recordkeeping, reloading syringes, ear tags and bands. She said that things the best money we’ve spent on the farm since she’s been around.

I can’t say enough of how happy I am with the chute! It what is a big investment, but i’m planning on keeping cows for a lot of years to come.

Now that’s funny!!! My brothers cows & usually calves are EXCITABLE , HIGHLY EXCITABLE!!!! They go under, thru, over or any other way of tearing the hell out of things. Nice to know someone else has exciting cattle. That a nice setup.
