I Cut some hay last night it got dry bad here this summer. Hope I can get the hay to cure up enough to go through my baler It will probably be a little wet but the girls are eating more now. I'll just feed it up

I had that choice. I went with not knocking the *s-wordoutta my graze and hay with a late cut. I'm trying to get set for the future. I've had to deal with short on everything in the past. I got a chance to hit reset by working off the farm. I'm going to make the most of it.

This low price stuff takes the fun right out of our "hobby"

It's been hard to justify this year

Trying to make money farming

Honestly, I'm just ready to be strictly a grazer. F the crops

Inputs and machinery are killers. Every time I hit the key on a tractor, I'm losing money.

Funny how inputs & machinery never go down. Branded feed prices are insane now compared to what you can mix at home.

My grandpa said it was best to be diversified. The industry says be the best in one area. I think the old man was on to something.

Droughts just suck. Remember baling some in December. With cooler temps it should keep a bit longer.

Some sold in western Carolina a few weeks ago for .68 Ross. Feeders. Damn.

Yes, they were worse here a couple of weeks ago. I had planned on finishing these but just wasn't going to work. So take my loss now or later.

Diversity is what keeps the farm I'm at going but even then it's tough trying to make it on a year like this. We are gonna loose our ass on sugar beets I'm afraid. We run about a thousand head cow calf operation as well so it's not looking good for us there either. Hopefully our seed alfalfa can keep us afloat.

The small herd that runs with the horses on this side of the road.

And the ugly bunch across the road where I've yet to mow.
