Have your boy hold the brake!
I'm usually out the door before they get moving in the morning. Six day work weeks and not getting home before dark slows down working at home. Got to get stuff done on days I have the hours. Only 4 days this week though and 3 the next. No more saturdays unless things blow up worse than they are.

That sucks but thanks for keeping the world moving. Maybe you could show usps a thing or two. :D

Nice to know you will have some time off soon. Doing anything special with it?

Catch up some chores and make sure this thing doesn't get dry rot from being out of the water too long.

I needed a 100 gallon fuel transfer tank around the place but didn't care for the tanks for sale locally. So I built one from 11 gauge cold rolled steel and by some sort of miracle, it doesn't leak.

First crop of breds moved into the farrowing barn. All of them due within 3 days of eachother. Had to add 2 extra crates to the barn, before I head out of town... Better half going to have her hands full... might best stay gone a while.

Thank you.

Pretty excited about this crop, should be some pretty good ones...

That pair of sows at the end raised a few county fair champs last year. Hope to have more fairs this year.

Sold 80 pigs last year, only 12 made it to the couple fairs that weren't cancelled.

Do you have mortality issues not being able to use an old school farrowing crates.

I’m looking at investing into a cattle chute you guys got any recommendations?
We have priefert S04's on the farms and haven't used any others so I can't really give you any comparisons. Use the auto close at times when you get an unruly animal and need to back away to get them caught. I like the side swing gate, the ability to change width easily and the ability to open the bars on top and panel on bottom to work on the cows. One man operation to run it.

Have 4 normal crates, just added the 2 blue ones yesterday.

Leave them in the pens until 2 days before they pop

They are still 8-10days out. Figure I better get them in the heated barn, and close to the crates. I'm going to be out of town the next 2-3weeks.... Easier for her to find help to load them into crates. Than from the pasture to trailer from the other farm few miles down the road.

I ended up looking at a few chute’s yesterday and it come down to a Arrow quip or a S04.
Decided to go with a Arrow quip with the built in vet cage and alleyway attached.

Did you try Hiland over New Waterford? They usually have several on site.
