Get it now before the price jumps again. $2500 sitting in that spreader. Diesel is hitting $3 a gallon now from less than $2 per 4 months ago.

Just had our off road tank filled last week. $2.69 a gallon. This time last year we got it for $1.48!!!

I didn't check off road prices while at the CO-OP. Filled my truck for $2.80 a gallon. Local Casey's was $3.07 last night. Getting stupid now.

Just hauled 5 feeder calves yesterday. Had to pull a calf That went very poorly. Calf didn’t make it. Had the momma sitting up when I left but couldn’t get her on her feet. Just got home an hour ago. Got two nice looking calves so far this year. Lost one in an ice storm. Think he musta got sick. Died in the barn out of the bad weather. Not having good luck with cattle this season so far.

To old to pull calves anymore, I know the feeling, I gave my pulling chains to the Boss.

I’ve usually always fertilize before some sort of rain, but there is none in sight for awhile now. Do you guys think it would be bad to put down my ammonium sulfate down with no rain coming? The ground is pretty darn wet in most spots, so I’m not worried there, but I have a couple hill fields. It’s urea that a guy should be more worried about losing value, correct?

I personally would do it. Rain will come at some point. I never worried much about loosing value in granulated fertilize When I’m doing my wheat I never tried to wait on a rain I’d go with it.

View attachment 289609 Dragging a few gopher-infested spots before fertilizing with the homemade drag, lol.

You'll be glad you took the time...now poison them little f'ers. This year's fert was a smidge pricey here at 75/ac.

The old girl is getting a dash of new tech this year.
