Call a dealer, and if it is registered they can tell you when and where it was purchased.

I can't see any markings at all on the rings (definitely no 'Caber' logo) and the piston doesn't have any identifying markings either! I'll have another look tonight and see if I can see anything - for everyone's peace of mind....
I had a look last night, and nope I can't see anything to identify what piston and rings were used. There is also a substantial ring gap so I don't think they were too tight....Dam photos won't upload, sorry

Sure—-

Replace springs with OEM immediately. A couple batches had weak keepers and were of overall poor quality. One batch was awesome; I’m running three of them in my 064s.

The clutch drums can be out of round. I’ve had a few that were scrap. I am running a couple with AM junk rims. They seem ok. AM rims wear out faster than OEM but I like ‘em since many of my chain loops aren’t perfect (and I don’t want to prematurely wear an OEM rim).

Any specific aftermarket brand?

I believe that was a whole lot of forgetfulness!!!

Really clean saw, would love to see a vid of it in wood.

I've heard of him, but don't know that I've ever seen one of his saw run!

I got the saw from Dustin and rebuild it. I’m pretty sure Randy and others have ran it? Honestly I haven’t even fueled it since being rebuilt but I ought too!

I’ve an early 064, early 066 and a late model 064.
Great saws no doubt.

My favorite saw glad I bought it.
Goes to work with me every day

I love my 064AV fun thread to read. She is fun to start with no decomp valve and it has been taking me more and more pulls each time. Any thoughts on what makes an old gal like this so cold blooded! I do live in northern mn but I keep the saw in the house when not cutting!

Could be a number of things.

Give it a full tune up first (air filter, plug, fuel filter) and if that does not help likely the carb diaphragms need to be replaced. They can get brittle over time and not provide the full "oomph" they were intended to provide.

You also want to check that your impulse line is in good condition and on the fittings well.

These are the most common things that come to mind, but it is by no means a complete list.
