A little bit of the home place that hasn’t been touched in about 30 years.

Looks just like the white quartz down here but then it is the 2nd most common mineral next to feldspar on the planet.
I think diamond fall in close to those minerals as being just as common yeah diamonds are not rare name one woman on the planet that doesn't own at least one it's called good marketing when it comes to the common old diamond..
Don't mind me lol I got interested in minerals and gems working in the bush logging with my old man years ago I walked onto and pushed some nice crystals and gems out accidentally with skidders and dozers over the year's...
From that yeah I got the gem bug here's some my finds like .001% of em haha
To think the next time you lay down some hard earned money in some jewelry shop for something nice for the wife that 99% of the gems are fake man made apart from the real diamonds that is as far as I know they haven't come up with a way to fake gem qulity diamonds as yet?.. and by law a jewelry shop is meant to tell you if a gem is natural or man made but none ever do is a sucker around every corner is all they care about....
Edit- I was wrong I looked up synthetic diamonds yeah is common man made gem quality diamonds now apparently.

Gem hunting is a disease once you learn how to read the ground there is no way you can walk past a good spot without a look! lol
Same as creeks ya can't help yourself juat have to have a quick look to see what's in the wash.
Plus nice natural rough gem and minerals sell for good money is a nice side gig for rainy days.

A longtime friend was a goldsmith/jeweler.
Even playing golf in the mountains we would detour thru a creek or rockface just to see what was there.
He found stuff everywhere. Garage sales were great he could see real stuff in the middle of a table of costume jewelry then buy it for a song.
Before his death we had started cutting some opal out of the substrate. It is Aussie opal i got many years ago for a little work hauling stuff to a new building. I have about 50lbs with some nice exposed veins. One piece has a 4"X 4"X 5/8" thick slab on one side with more peeking out all over the boulder.

I have rocks in the yard from North Georgia and Montana. My wife likes rocks and i have to tote them home.
There is beauty in the natural world.

I know of a spot with nice petrified wood laying all over the ground.
Only reson I know of it my dad told me where it was and my grandfather told him where it was. There is tonnes of it and even hole trees exposed.

Rule number one never tell anyone where your spots are! It will be cleaned out over night.
Whenever people think there is easy money to be made they go crazy!

Have a look at this the crazy money for some petrified wood people are asking I found on eBay lol

I haven’t had any, but I have heard some good things about them. I love the Hoffman Armor Pros, but they aren’t a custom boot as you know.
