I haven’t had any, but I have heard some good things about them. I love the Hoffman Armor Pros, but they aren’t a custom boot as you know.

For the price of the Hoffman’s you can almost get a set of custom Nick’s. Wesco has gotten outrageous that’s what my Caulks are gotten about 10 years out of them so far without issues but they have set idle for about the last 3 years.

Do you guys own or know anyone who owns a set of Nick’s?

I worked with a guy that got two sets of Nick's, one for cutting and one for fire. He said they took
longer to break-in, but after break-in they were more comfortable.

The last set of new caulks I bought were Buffalos and they were painful during break-in, but now
they're great boots.

In the late 1800's there were thousands of wooden chutes around the province and dozens in the county of Haliburton, but they’re all gone now.

There’s been a log chute on this site since 1861 and this chute is now the only one of its kind in Ontario.

This historic site is a testament to the tenacity and perseverance of the tens of thousands of men who made their living in the logging industry, and whose courage helped forged the communities of rural Ontario.

They logged that area starting early in the 1800's The area was almost all white and red pine, The lags were floated all the way to lake Ontario through a series of lakes using chutes to get from one lake to another and flat deck steam powered alligator side wheelers to pull the booms down the lakes in the later years. I've seen pics from 1920 of the area and there wasn't a tree left standing. I heard it took almost two years to float the wood from Haliburton County down the Lake Ontario.

Some of the white pines were used for British naval sailing warship masts.

I understand that a large percentage of the wood went to build tenements in New York city.

Now it's a mix of hardwoods and softwoods. A lot of birch oak and maple with white and red pines. Beautiful country with lots of rock and water in every hole.
