Well, I can honestly say I was not home at the time CAUSE I WAS OUT CUTTING WOOD!!! But look what arrived today!

It looks real good to me! Pleased the box specifies Caber Rings, the intake port seems to be about as wide as the piston skirt would allow, and the upper transfers seem to nicely point toward the intake side.

I'm no expert, but quality looks good to me, with very minor casting stuff not removed and the pics don't show it well, but the plating looks good to me, and the piston seems to be a snug fit.

Not sure what make piston it is, but the quality looked good to me, and it seems pretty light.

I don't know how to port saws, but if I did have some skill with it the one thing I would do is fix the bottom of the intake, it is the only port that does not look symmetrical to me. Likely a minor problem that is mostly just cosmetic, but it is the one thing I would fix if I could.

The rest of it looks great to me.

Before and after vid time. Get a new factory chain and pull a oem vid, before you break in the cross top

I figure as long as I use the same B&C for both power heads, it is good. But I also agree that after the initial test, I should replace the B&C to break the saw in, then test it again with the first B&C to see the difference.

FYI, I run RSLH on a 36" light bar on the 066. On other saws, my hand filed RSL does almost exactly the same as factory.

Interesting stuff.

Can you take a pic of the stock jug when you pull it Mike?

Even better would be a shot of each port of each jug, side by side.

The uppers look huge to me and the exhaust roof too flat. Could be the angle.

The entire thing is Ubër Cool. Having a bolt on jug with this kinda performance upgrade at a reasonable price.

Good idea Al. I also plan to compare the pistons, and put em on the scale.

I don't have a lot of experience, but the transfers also looked large to me, but these are large motors.

The exhaust roof is not flat, but does not have a lot of arch either.

But, as they say, the proof is in the pudding ... we will see how she runs!!!

The ex roof on these is pretty flat, if you remember the review thread I started on these kits it's discussed at some length.
There's a pic of where I traced it onto the piston.

http://opeforum.com/threads/mmws-cross-performance-066-660-cylinders.5110/

The uppers do look wide and are also fairly tall, making for a relatively narrow bridge, don't have a stock jug to compare with though.
Looks huge next to a Ks 064 jug I have at .90" x .34" and then 1.06" x .47" on the Cross.

The bare cross piston weighed in at 84 grams and a worn stock 066 at 94 grams.
