you may be missing Randy's point...if I may... a broken saw in for repairs could have been "broked" by any of a myriad of reasons... Randy's complaint is with BRAND NEW unopened box saws requiring major repairs before they can be operated. Its "Quality" or lack there of "Control" that is the issue.. Not the general operating reputation or performance or even reliability.

I won't buy another because of the fact it can't be reset without being plugged in and made love to. Im sitting here with my hand on my ass waiting for it for this reason. Could have just reset the stihl and gotten it back to work after being rebuilt or just fired it up if it had a regular carb.

Randy has always spoke straight with me, I’ve never taken his recommendations and later regretted it. When I asked several weeks ago which saw to get 572, 462, or 500i..... his response was fast and definitive. He didn’t mention 572 or 462. And gave me the reason why he would pick the 500i. He didn’t bash the other 2, and he didn’t try to sell me on them either.

They may be bigger bearings, but if the cases aren’t sized correctly it won’t matter. I’m not saying that’s the problem, just a possibility.

I was wondering the same thing and isn't the 572 a full circle crank? Could the saws that failed have a clearance issue not letting enough lube in?

Ok I just read most of this thread and I'm a little disappointed that someone is using the word "retard" as an insult.
Implying that someone with an extra chromosome would be more likely to buy a 572 husky is very bigoted! (NOPE is fine, although it depends on the situation)
Please refrain from calling persons insults if it includes a group of persons that will never likely purchase a 572 husky.
I think my sister called me "retarded" through out the entire 80s.

My dealer is good, but I'm done. Ill just buy stihl from now on and pay.

I'm not done with Husqvarna by any means. I do a bunch of 3120s, 395s, 390s, and 372s. But the 5 series is more trouble for me, and the customer IF there is a problem. I don't need the work badly enough to play the odds.

My mood is vastly improved now....and I'm ready to just flip the page and move on. What ol Duce thinks of me is none of my business any damn way....I've passed the point of caring.

I just got done riding around on a tractor sitting out round bales. Had a new born calf on the ground this morning. Beautiful white face, healthy. Hard to keep from being grateful after seeing that.
