met up with @Ryan Browne today. Real cool dude. So since there is cold beer and the packer game waiting for me I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Here's the vids. You decide which bar has more torque.

- I used 1 new off the roll Stihl RSLH chain (93dl). Cannon wide tip got to go first, so the tsumura narrow tip got seconds! haha if that makes a difference to ya's.

- 10 pin sprocket

ah what the hell one more time with the tsumura!
Would have been more beneficial to just drink beer and watch football.

I've come to enjoy Redbull's test threads. I thought he was crazy when he tested MY oil against another.....and MY oil lost. lol

But.....I tried a different oil at a different ratio to see.....and he was right. I was handicapping some of my saws by using that oil. Because of his tests, I found an oil that works better in the autotune and m-tronic saws.

Remember one thing here guys. Julian is enjoying himself, and spending his money. He's taking his time to share his results with us.

Now......if you think that's silly, just keep it to yourself. There are other threads you can follow.

His money is one thing, passing his results off as scientific fact is another. Then the newbies see that and spend their money and can't figure out why the new bar that they just spent $200 on and 4 hours scraping the paint off of didn't make their saw any faster.

i think redbull is on to something about the wide belly bar and the natural arc the chain is being thrown on the bar also less friction of the chain

So if the belly bars are the undisputed winners for speed due to the curve of the bar itself, then it would make sense to me that the narrow nose would be faster as it gives the bar itself more of an overall curve and the added speed from the curve is trumping the added resistance of the narrow nose. Of course that's just what it appears to me in your picture on page one. If you would kindly place one of those narrow nose bars on top of the wide nose and snap a picture for us to see the profile differences.

I've not tried a 10 pin. I don't have anything to run most of my chains with a 10. They're not set up for that speed with the angles. They suck the life out of most of the saws past an 8 pin.

I'm not sure this was a fair run for the Cannon bar. I noticed it had to chew on some knots near the center of the log and it cleared the path for the other bar to have knot free cuts. I think those two bars are more equal than the credit given.

Do you think different bar designs
Free up power? As different bar tips and shapes?
