Why would the 462’s go anywhere, new designed saw that’s only been around couple years. Only reason that 241 went is nobody seemed to buy them, dealer up here had one and it sat forever. All the customers seemed to just buy the 261 instead

I agree with everything you say, but my concern was why the 400 was listed but not the 462??? Also, almost everyone I know who has a 241 loves it, so I'm surprised it was discontinued. It was also fairly new.

Stihl seems to be developing more saws than they can keep in the line up (362, 400, 462, 500). I presumed the 362 would be the one to go, but it is listed and the 462 is not!!!

This is a no brainer. 362 getting the boot. New saws taking over are 400, 462, 500i.
They will keep 362 on the books as long as they have the parts to make those saws in inventory.
Once they have sold, 362 will be gone...

This is gonna be a wait and see type thing. But looking at the horsepower and weight I’m not seeing huge improvements in either category. Looks to be more of a aesthetic makeover. I am disappointed it’s not gonna be offered as an Mtronic option.
