But what about actually basing your assertions off experience, rather than hypothetically thinking out loud?
I owned the first one in Alaska. It left the box flawed. It went back to Blackhawk Saw Shop for warranty. I had to give feeback to Stihl higher-ups on everything they should change on the future revisions of the 881 before they ever ship another to a cold weather environment.
I paid over $2000 for down-time and to be a test bunny.
Having run 30+ gallons of mixed fuel through an 881, I can say that the thing was an expensive disappointment on many instances. It is no milling saw and you won't get anywhere near a 59" bar with that oiler.
