Was wondering the same thing myselfI’m kinda disappointed the amount of pulls it took to start, efi and a purge primer I would think it should be less than 6 to stay running. Looks like it runs nice though and I still want one.
What’s wrong with the hd2 ?
Nothing, in my book, but some folks don't like em, say they get dirty too fast.

No problem with porting the MS 500i its the same system like the MS 462.
It know the crankcase pressure and rpms an injext the right amount of fuel.
Open throttle = higher absolute pressure in the crankcase.
It has no throttle sensor like a autotune saw.

Stihls new 500i, power of a 661 weighs less than 461 at 13.66 pounds fuel injected!

Yup. That's why I threw the question out there after you mentioned direct injection.
I wonder if they could seal off the lower end bearings and use some sort of changeable oil, while direct injection of fuel mix in the upper cylinder?
Just thinking outloud for a bit, don't mind me. Lol
Why didn't they just make the 500i in white with a black carbon top??
