I’m going to guess the 500i comes in 1-150$ less than a ms661. I’m also thinking the electronics and injection really won’t cost that much more to make than an m tronic carb and the little electronics it requires.

Of course the local dealer told me I can get my ms462 after the first of the year, he said he heard 1700 for a ms 500i but I don’t know where. Wasn’t the stihl rep that told him.

The 2019 Catalog just arrived. Ms500i is more expensive than 661cm. List price 1.499€.

It’s catalogued like that but you can order anything up to 90cm

It was “expected” or rather based upon German catalog that the ms500i would be cheaper than 661cm.

Unfortunately it is not as in my country its far more expensive than 661cm and really priced close to Germany.

Check the prices at countries already selling ms500i. Even more poor income countries get approximately same price.

Result: the price (at least European markets) would be the same.

PS: not first time I come across this. Same happens for example with pistols like Sig Sauer etc. one price so nobody could afford import from one to another.
