If we're to trust history, however, the MS 500i will be slightly cheaper in store, perhaps by a couple of hundred dollars. If that's the case it will land a few hundred dollars above the competitors of the 70cc class.

You can’t just do the currency conversion. You have to look at it relative to other saws and then match those saws in existing markets. Every price I have seen for a MS500 is just below a 661. I am sure that is where it will be when it finally arrives.

The fuel injection has to cost more than the mtron carb. Then throw in the newness and cool factor.

Why the 500i so soon after the 462 and, come to think of it, why so close to the power of the 661? Is anyone else thinking the 500i is going to swallow at least one of those two aforementioned models if it lives up to the hype and isn't an abortion of a new-release like the 661 was?

Have there been many comparisons between the 500i and these two other models? I noticed one video that wasn't particularly well done.
