The 16" low-pro guide bar on my MS241-CM has a tip problem causing a lot of drag so it is bogging my saw down. That bar has seen a lot of use and should have a lot of life left but, the tip got pinched felling a tree so I blame myself as much as anything for the problem.

I believe it is 55 drive links so, pretty short IMHO. I spend a lot of time right now in heavily overgrown areas with vines and thin light trees in my way so, I find myself reaching a LOT to clear a path for myself to get to trees that need to be cut. I'm thinking a real 18" or 20" guide bar is the right choice today.

With supply chain and staffing problems today, what are my better guide bar options for this saw today?

TIA,
Sid

Get a 16" Tsumura or Sugihara.
Way more robust bars than all the rest.

How do they compare to the Cannon out of Canada which is currently out of stock?
Cannon bars are also top ,but I think it will be quite difficult to find a
16" bar with the Stihl 3005 mount
( The MS241 does have a 3005 bar mount, if I'm not being mistaken ).

Yep, the only ones I see are 12" and 14". They list 16", 18", and, 20" bars though on the factory website. The sites listed on Google show some of those options but, they are out of stock or back ordered with expected deliveries as far out as March 2024!

Sugihara searches have been very frustrating, to the point of wondering if they are even making bars right now but, I did find a few larger Stihl bars available. Most Sugihara bars turned out to be 3/8" and 0.050 for larger format mounts. Husky saws seemed to have good coverage.
