Lol. I sharpened too many chains. I use my thumb for a guide sometimes. [emoji106]

Any if you guys try running different oil ratios? 32:1? Or richer? Does it help the innerds? Does mtronic compensate for it?

I'll get my stones busted for this..

But I doubt your 261 is gonna have any long term benefit from that heavy of a ratio..I don't think your even gonna put the load on it to burn the oil in a 50cc saw...I run 50:1 now in alot of my small saws..with a good oil like HP2 it's just fine.

Shoot me.

Jeff, a paint stirrer is a lot cheaper (free even), and I have demonstrated how to use em, and they are much firmer than your thumb!

I'll agree that 50:1 with good oil is just fine. Heck, for 18 years the 044 ran on 50:1 dino oil, and it is fine!

But now it has more compression, timing, and runs stronger, so 40:1 just gives me a little insurance, especially when I use a saw for milling.

Lol. I hear you Mike.
We all got our little sharpening styles and techniques and our own ways of doing what we do. Lol. [emoji106]

I can assure you that none of the wood hoes I know are gonna understand any of this stuff and know what to do if their chainsaws starts acting funny, maybe I'm just a stick in the mud.
Most/none of the wood hoes I know could tell you how to adjust a regular carb anyway. Most are happy if it starts in less than 20 pulls and the "blade" is sharp (or their interpretation of sharp). I would bet most changes other than types of gas caps, and chain adjustment/removal procedures go largely unnoticed by the masses.

around 14,000 board feet of lumber from those logs

some oak logs on the landing

so all this was cut with a 50cc saw, pine over 36", oak over 28" in those piles.

you all can mix your gas anyway you want. my saws get used so it's 32/1 for me

I tried to explain the old reset procedure to the guy I work for on a 362, he had no idea what I was even talking about, saws are a write off and a tool to him..nothing else, they wont live to see a top end put on let alone a bottom end rebuild..its not cost effective if you pay someone, those saws go on the shelf to be stripped for the very few parts left that are worth a *s-word.

I got put in charge of our fuel/maintenace..but the extra oil isn't gonna make the saw survive abuse by 6 guys this summer...when it's all said and done he'll go buy a couple new ones and that will be that.

My 201 pukes oil out the exhaust at 44:1 with HP2..and by October its gonna look like it stormed the beach at Normandy..but I guess the bearings will still be good.
