A local dealer calls my bud who is a tree trimmer every time he gets an 020 or 200T traded in .He usually gets them for between $200-$25o in running condition .What few that needed some attention I've done for him which is usually seals and bearings .Like I said of all Stihls these are the most friendly to work on IMO .I think Tom has at least a half dozen in reserve along with at least 2 or 3 201T's he dislikes .
Al, If you come up on a 200t case. any shape lemme know. I got an old timer in PA that needs one for a project. Ill gladly take any 200t carcasses as well
I've just got boxes full of parts .I try to keep things like McCulloch in one place and Stihl in another .Sometimes I get the right box on the first try and some times I might not find it in a month .This is just my shed .My 60 by 70 shop is worse .
Say just for my curiosity I checked flea bay for 020/200T parts .What OEM crankcases I found they wanted a kings ransom for but of course they were brand new .However if you wanted to go aftermarket these things are cheap ,like less than 50 bucks complete with bearing ,seals and gaskets .Fact I think you could build an entire saw from AM parts .How well it might do I have no idea however .
