Was looking for a 034 carcass to put it on. He gave it to me with what I think was a 290 piston. I think...Then forgot I had it. Got 2 little knicks where he was down by the intake, but they will sand out I think. I might be looking for a donor saw...the rest doesnt look bad.

You going to true it up before setting the squish?
Go to like 0.012 with it.

Did he grind on the intake floor much?

I'm trying to do very little machine work to mine to keep compression low. Just clean up the inside and base. Going for 0.025 or more on my tree saw build. Looking for easy starts with no decomp. Right now as stock it is very easy to get it going. It needs a timing advance, bigger muffler exit holes and a port match. I'm going to gain some area on the roof of the exhaust but nothing more. Transfer port time will be key. Doing that first.

Have you installed the jug on something with the 290 piston?
What else with one ring will fit this saw?

The 036 and the 034 are not the same except the exhaust port length. The 034 has a boss cast in for a side mounted decomp imo.

That’s an 034S jug Kenny, not an 036 jug. You are correct about the beautiful ports though.

I thought this 034S jug came off an 036 that went through my shop over seven years a go. Could be wrong. Never repaired an 034. This last buy will be my first 034 chassis.

Wish I had found this gem sooner.
Running the smaller cyl and piston because they were nice, ring was worn bad.
Ten tanks through pine sap, so far so good.

Not AV, not super, not pro, I think its a 1991.

I know OEM filters for 1125 series saws are getting hard to find, but there's plenty of aftermarket options available....

Be sure to find the correct filter for your era of saw as the later filters differ from the early.

They use the green paper one. Pretty sure the 034S can be run BGD though.
