Did you show you muffler mod? Try richening the mix a bit? Throw a different plug in it?

I'm just a bit suprised it's not running to your liking. Your ports and machine work look great.

What bar and chain are you using?

It's got the better stock muffler...with factory multiple holes in the front cover behind the screen. I didn't give it a thought that it could be the difference between them the 024 is muffler moded.

It's not free porting anyplace.

It has a out of the box wt194.

Both saws have 16" .325 .063 67drivers
Out of the box Stihl RS chain.

It seem it lacked more then a mm.
I'm hoping raising the intake will help it out.

Open the muffler, like alot. Like 1.5" squared.

Run the saw for a short time with the front muffler cover off, see what it feels like.

You made a saw that wants to breathe. Youre asking it to exhale through a drinking straw.

Yeah I totally forgot about the muffler.. I feel like a jack wagon! Anyhow how high should I go with the intake? 70* to high? Seems like guys like 70-75*

I woulda left it alone at 79 and tried both. Hey, you live and learn.

Dont forget to retune carb after u open the exhaust.

YEah its a big hole but the screen is 48% open so halve the size of it.

I bought this wire mesh air filter from Wood's a Stihl Dealer in Sedro Woolley Wa it was a stock item there two years ago

Anyone know the Stihl part number for this filter?

You don't need it Pat.

The new larger 260 version has the nylon filter that flows good enough and is readily available.

I have the flocked version not the nylon. Does the oem flocked one flow good enough? At least this newer version is reasonably priced.
