How do they run?
Have You inspected them for possible flaws?
If they are OK why would You care, just don't initiate more business with the questionable individuals.

Besides, Your dilemma is an easy fix - just get ten times more saws than You already have and that 50% will drop to negligible 5% or so.
Also, You can clear Your portfolio by blowing the saws up - just be sure to make videos of it.

I think some people get all big headed with the praises and think their chit doesn't stink then fold like a lawn chair when they hit a bump in the road.

I've seen this happen with local race car engine "builders" and carpenters.

It also seem that trades that don't have a stringent licensing process attract the hacks.

"Anyone can build.... few rise to level of the cream, very few."
LP 2019

Quick fixes and inferior practices lead to failure.

Building race motors for boats, anything but quarter mile drag boats, tells the truth about that builder, his parts selection and overall ability for ones build to survive given proper maintenance. Offshore abuse is like 1K desert racing beatings, just a hell of thing to do to an engine. Aaaand sometimes stuff is fatigued then just lets go. The Y is the key.

Chainsaws.....lmao
Let's get real

Stringent practices in the mind of the builder is the only thing that matters Wayne. Licencing would be a joke.... rof. "Hey you, got any common sense for sale?" Good builders figure things out and correct the problems most times. Those hung up on industry standards rarely improve anything. Those who cut corners and play swaparoo get away with it far longer because they shovel some seriously sweet *B-S..... Plus, most are very good at grooming. Look it up if you need to.

Ones ability to approach a build with out bias based on prior knowledge, "redderick from Frederick", *s-word read on the internet, stuff your uncles moms brothers.... told you, the local grocery clerks input and lets not for get the guy or gal who builds race engines downtown

Time for me to get back to the grind if we want to stay warm and dry this winter.

I'd hang onto the saws from stodgy builders as there value will increase due to their services being NLA. Its like owning a gun from Jesse James or something. Imagine what a JMS or Moody saw will be worth one day. Its an investment portfolio of battered & broken dreams.
