I noticed there’s 2 Wright reciprocating saws. Any idea what those are meant for? They don’t look good for cutting wood

They will cut wood, just slower than a chainsaw. They were often used for splitting large animal carcasses right down the middle backbone. These saws don`t use oil on the bars and were also used for pruning fruit trees in orchards. They won`t win any races but were often used for framing jobs where large timbers were used.

Its just a lifetime collection of cast off`s from relatives and people of the neighborhood. As newer saws came out on the market the old ones were left with me.

There are many more saws stored away deep inside storage sheds/buildings. When and if I get time I will pull more out and take pics. Some havn`t seen daylight in 30 or more years.

That pile of wood is a larger version of one I'm dealing with . I've also got a smaller collection of older saws but certainly not that many .
My mistake on the wood pile was allowing a tree trimmer who was supposed to split and move it for sale .Now 9-10 later of course there it lays .The white oak of course doesn't degrade much but the red oak rots after that much time .It will never happen again I'll tell you that .

You know the one.

I looked all through my pics and can`t find a closeup of that particular saw. I think Photo Bucket is holding them for ransom so I borrowed these pics from the net, the two bottom pics are actually mine, P Bucket finally released them, maybe not for long.
