Those 80's smaller Yamaha and Kawasaki dirt bikes where fun bikes lively and put a smile on your face just like these saws we all love

This derail was meant too be , all this talk about 100cc 2-strokes bikes
leads onto the half brother of the super Rex the solo twin
Which sounds like a mean ole dirt bike

I'll own the derail guys. It's hard not to reminisce about the old bikes. But nothing wrong with a derail you know what I'm saying. This place isn't like good site/nazi site like a few others.

P.S. I'm still wondering what makes that onry lookin' bastard a wolf in sheep clothing. Haha. It looks radical as it can get.

I like derails, they add to the rumbling train wreck of the modern Information Age
I'm chasing a solo twin at the moment
I know where one is,but have to find the right swap material for it
If you find the right trading material.....
See if he has any parts,i need an air filter for a solo twin.
I can find trading material or $$

Do you know visually how you tell a standard Rex from a Super Rex? I am pretty sure they were 12ish H.P saws, not bad for their age and what we have today.

Looks like 10 SAE Gross hp (= calculated hp, not comparable to modern measured hp) to me, if you compare the number for Super REX to the numbers for the regular REX?

Super REX: http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/a9ff461d1fcb85da88256b3a001b400e?OpenDocument

REX: http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/811337b78cfd8cba88256afb00252e53?OpenDocument

That said, I would like to see additional sources on the numbers - and the MK. II versions (of both) allegedly had "boosted power"....

Last time I was on a motorcycle I woke up to a train whistle coming at me.Dad said to put a fuggin helmet on or I would never ride the fuggin bike again and it was already in gear. There were alot of truth to those words.

I think Rick H has a big Solo that was a constant winner in the 60's when his Dad ran it .After Cliff tinkered with it he shipped it off to Wisconsin for somebody to borrow and danged if it didn't win like 30 years later .
