I rustled up fifty chickens in the dark this morning. Dropped them off to the butcher before work and now they're in the freezer. Guess you could say they've been conquered......Oh and I put a new 24" Sugi on my 372. That beeotch looks sweet!

It was, but it appeared to have good compression. Had to bring it less than 300 yards, if nothing else it is a $10 yard sale item.

That should keep your toes warm Mike ! Oak is not a wood i get to fell or cut around me much but its known as a good test of a saw due to its tight grain.

It is very heavy wood Simon and you it last a good while. I don't usually cut white oak but this one had a hollow spot in the center so we decided to cut it.

No point in leaving something with rot to the core in it...That would be perfect timber in my "Rayburn" cooker ....burns long and controlled for overnight logs.

best to get them down while they still can be used, oak is my favourite firewood, very heavy though
